UAV Introduction

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles are the flying machines having no on-board pilots. Flown remotely from a ground control station these machines can perform numerous tasks with minimum risk to humans. Being light weight and compact in design they are undoubtedly a better option over manned aircrafts for different applications pertaining to civil and military. No field of engineering is untouched by the use of these flying machines starting from Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, and Civil to fields like Agriculture, Petroleum etc.

Though these flying machines are so advantageous, it takes lot of effort to design and develop these machine and make it capable of carrying out the specified objective. Not only building but flying these machines with full control requires complete knowledge of the subject.

    A Compact UAV Starter Lab includes various UAV models to develop the skills of students in the field of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. The Lab and training sessions are designed in a way to make students understand the physics and dynamics of these flying machines as well as learn to fly them.

    The lab also comes equipped with flight simulator software and remote setups for students to master their flying skills before trying their hands on actual machine.

  2. UAV Skill Development Lab

    A well-equipped UAV Skill Development Lab designed to acquaint students with not only basic models of UAV but also the autonomous features of drones. In addition to learning the basics of working and flying of UAVs, students also learn the concept of autopilot system.

    With simulator setups students can work on developing their flying skills along with working on certain real-time applications with the payloads provided with autonomous drone.

UAV Workshop

A two day workshop with both theoretical and practical sessions designed to match the course curriculum of the engineering domains to create a better understanding of the subject.

The students are taught the process of UAV product development including:

  • Preliminary Design
  • Conceptual Design
  • Detailed Design and Software simulation

Also giving students a hands on experience to create their own model to fly and ending the session with a domain specific application of the same.

A week’s course designed to train the students, professional and hobbyist in flying UAVs. The training involves the learning of DGCA rules for Remotely Piloted Aircrafts, basics of aerodynamics, communication procedures, safety procedures, do’s and don’ts of operation.

The practical session starts with simulator training followed by training on a real-time UAV.
